Oh Glinda! Urban Decay Oz Glinda palette Review and Swatches

I thought long and hard about this and decided I needed Glinda in my life....

For those of you who follow me on YT, you guys are well aware that I was on a January no makeup buy since we were just coming off of the holidays and I wanted to be good :)

To kick off February I decided to get this lovely Urban Decay palette that I have been eyeing before it was even launched. I had my heart set on getting the Theodora palette, but I had a change of heart once I saw Glinda...we fell in love <3
Michelle Williams stars as the lovely good witch Glinda
First let me tell you what this lovely limited edition set contains:
1. 6 limited edition eyeshadow eyeshadows- 2 of which are duo eyeshadows so all in all it has 8 unique eyeshadows
2. Urban Decay liner in Rockstar (a deep plum color)
3. Urban decay high shine lip pencil in Glinda (Nude color)
4. How to postcard to create the "Glinda" look

the palette is a perfect size for travelling
So here are the swatches of the eyeshadows:

These swatches are on my dry arm with no primer
Top left to right: Illusion, Oz duo, South  Bottom l to e: Tornado, Aura duo, Magic, Rockstar liner and Glinda lip pencil

under flash
The 6 eyeshadows in this palette are:

Tornado (vibrant deep purple shimmer)- this eyeshadow is super creamy and very pretty. I find that this color is not so deep when applied with a brush on the lid or crease area. I would describe this as a burgundy purple when blended in and not so deep as it looks in the pan.

Aura (2 shades in 1: iridescent white w/blue shift and iridescent white w/red shift)- I think this is my favorite eyeshadow from the palette. I love how bland it looks on the pan but it looks so beautiful when swatched and applied. This color is complex with the duo tone in it which makes it look quite lovely

Magic (pinkish purple w/golden shimmer)- as described. No trouble with this color at all. Very creamy in application and swatches as shown in the pan.

Illusion (pale peach satin)- This color is a beautiful highlight. It is soft and creamy.

Oz (2 shades in 1: gold shimmer w/gold glitter and silver shimmer w/silver glitter)- This duo is probably the most troublesome of the bunch because of all the fallout. If you're ok looking like a glitter bomb then this duo is for you. It is quite pigmented and lovely :)

South (warm pale gray shimmer w/silver micro-glitter). This is a beautiful color. It looks quite complex and bright on the pan and applied. This color is a cross between taupe and silver and I find that it is very unique.
Look I created with flash: used almost all the eyeshadows in the palette except the blueish side of Aura

Me trying to do a Shay Mitchell pose :P lol

All in all I think this palette is a good buy and well worth the $49 price tag :)

Where to buy: Sephora, Ulta, Urbandecay.com many more depends on the area you live in
Price: $49

I'm still debating if I should get the Theodora palette since I have so many neutrals! :P

Hope this was helpful!

Love,
Angelica <2
